87 MEMORIES AND EVENTS
Sasha and I (Leah) have both been in the hospitality industry for over 10 years each.
We always dreamed of being wedding and event planners but thought it was just that, a dream. A few years ago we were both working for an amazing event planning company in Seattle. We sort of had our "ah hah" moment and thought "why can't we do this?!"
So we started playing around with names and came up with 87 Memories & Events because 1987 was the year we met. Sasha's mom then told us that there was also 87 days between our birthdays! So the name stuck. We've been in business officially a year this spring but doing events for about 3 years. It has been quite a learning experience so far and we are so excited to see where this journey takes us. Check out our website here!

AAKANKSHA GAVALI
I am very excited to be the organizer of Cupcake Camp Seattle! I missed out on going to Cupcake Camp a few years ago, and when I looked it up to see when it was this year, I was very disappointed to learn that it was no longer being held in Seattle. After spending some time thinking about all the delicious cupcakes I missed out on eating, I realized that this was a great fundraiser idea for Relay For Life. It's the perfect opportunity to bring bakers and cupcake lovers in our community together to help support a good cause, and since it is held during the Northshore Relay For Life, it is also a great way to have people come out to Relay and see what it is all about!
I have been proud supporter of the American Cancer Society for over 10 years. This year will be my 11th year participating in Relay For Life and my 4th year on the Northshore Relay For Life committee. I have also been a part of other ACS planning committes such as their Annual Hope Gala and a Washington State Ambassador for the Cancer Action Network.
Watching our community come together and share their passion for living in a cancer-free world is what makes Relay one of the greatest events to be a part of. I am very blessed to be a part of our Relay family and so grateful for all of the support we have gotten!
My goal this year is to raise $5,000 and host an event that people will want to come back to year after year!
